SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Basic Functions
Zimswitch is seeking a skilled and security-conscious Software Engineer to join our development team. The successful candidate will design, build, and maintain robust, secure software solutions within an Agile delivery environment, ensuring adherence to secure coding practices (PCIDSS) and the organisation’s information security standards, including ISO 27001.

Qualifications and Experience
Education and Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
Desirable
* Relevant certifications in secure software development (e.g., Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP), GIAC Secure Software Programmer, or equivalent).
* Cloud security certification (e.g., AWS/Azure security-related certifications) an added advantage.
Required Skills and Competencies
* Proficiency in relevant programming languages/frameworks – Java, PHP, JavaScript.
* Solid understanding of secure coding (PCIDSS) principles and OWASP Top 10.
* Familiarity with ISO 27001 framework and its application to software development – formal certification a plus.
* Practical Agile/Scrum experience (certification such as CSM/PSM is a plus).
* Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD tools.
* Familiarity with SAST/DAST tools (e.g., SonarQube, OWASP ZAP).
* Understanding of API security, authentication/authorization protocols (OAuth2, JWT).
* Database knowledge (SQL/NoSQL) with secure data handling practices.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Good written and verbal communication.
