Job Description

Shalom Elite Group of Schools is seeking a reliable and organized Stores Clerk to manage the daily operations of the school store. The ideal candidate must have at least 2 years of experience in a retail or storekeeping role and be responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing stock efficiently. The Stores Clerk will maintain accurate inventory records, ensure proper stock levels, and provide courteous service to students and staff. The successful applicant must be honest, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a school environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

-Receive, inspect, and record incoming stock and supplies
-Store items properly and ensure stock is well organized
-Issue supplies to students, teachers, and departments as required
-Maintain accurate inventory records (manual or electronic)
-Monitor stock levels and report shortages or damaged items
-Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies
-Operate the cash register and handle transactions where applicable
-Ensure the store area is clean, safe, and orderly
-Assist with ordering and restocking supplies
-Prepare basic reports on stock movement and usage
-Support school administration with any store-related tasks

Qualifications and Experience

-Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a retail store or storekeeping role
-Diploma in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management or a related field
-Proven experience in stock control and inventory management
-Basic knowledge of bookkeeping and cash handling procedures
-Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Word, Excel)
-Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
-Good communication and customer service skills
-Honest, dependable, and able to work independently
-Experience working in a school environment will be an added advantage
