We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Stores Manager to lead and manage its Central Stores operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing procurement, inventory management, storage, and distribution of cleaning materials, maintenance spares, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and other operational requirements. The role requires a proactive individual with strong inventory control, supplier management, and team leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the efficient operation of the Central Stores function.
• Oversee procurement activities in accordance with company purchasing procedures.
• Source, evaluate, and maintain relationships with credible suppliers.
• Obtain quotations and ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions.
• Coordinate the procurement and management of maintenance spares in liaison with the Maintenance Manager.
• Coordinate the procurement and management of PPE in liaison with the SHEQ Manager.
• Maintain optimal stock levels and ensure accurate inventory records.
• Supervise the receipt, storage, issuance, and dispatch of goods in accordance with established procedures.
• Conduct regular stock counts and investigate stock variances.
• Prepare inventory, procurement, and management reports.
• Lead, supervise, and develop stores personnel.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and health and safety standards.
Qualifications and Experience
• Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing & Supply, Logistics, Warehousing, Business Management, or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as CIPS will be an added advantage.
• At least five (5) years' relevant experience in stores, warehousing, procurement, or supply chain management.
• Previous supervisory or managerial experience is essential.
• Experience managing maintenance spares, consumables, and industrial inventories will be an added advantage.
• Proficiency in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
