Hwange Colliery Company Limited Holdings, a local diversified organisation with investments interest in Mining, Real Estate, Health Care, Agriculture, Energy, and Financial Services has a vacancy for the position of Technical Surveyor under the Mining and Processing Company. This position reports to the Chief Surveyor. The ideal candidate for the post should be organized, creative and analytical with a passion to support the HCL Business Improvement Plan (BIP).
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Supervise on-site surveys on collecting data on land boundaries, topography, and other physical features using advanced equipment like GPS, GIS, Drones and laser scanners
Supervising and ensuring that mine plans are updated and maintained accurately at all times
. Developing, implementing, and monitoring survey systems to ensure that open pits and underground departments
comply with approved design plans and follow standard and set procedures
• Provide critical surveying information for the planning, design, and implementation of engineering projects
• Responsible for the efficient running of the Survey computer room, the softwares, the care and maintenance of all survey equipment
• Scheduling duties for mine surveyors and monitoring that jobs are completed on time
• Ensuring that regular file archive backups are pertormed and kept in a sate place
Accountable for the observance of the Mining Regulations of Zimbabwe and Company's Standard Instructions
• To check and ensure all survey monthly reports are produced as per survey procedures requirement and ensure that they are submitted to the Chief Surveyor
• Prepare and submit all monthly Productivity sheets for the Contractor performance
• Development and training of Learner Surveyors
• Check and ensure that the survey team has a valid PPE strategy
• Ordering consumables needed for efficient running of the survey office and ensure that all instruments are properly adjusted and calibrated to the desired accuracy levels at all times
• Oversee and manage site wide regulatory compliance with drone operations
Develop, plan, implement and monitor the economic and effective operations of the company's RPA fleet
: Monitoring good housekeeping and adherence to safety procedures
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Good communication skills
• Commitment to safety, specific knowledge of the Mines and Minerals Act and Safety Regulations S.I 109 of 1990
• Clean Class 4 drivers Licence
• Minimum Two (2) years' experience in a mining environment
EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION
National Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Mine Surveying
Registration with the Association of Mine Surveyors of Zimbabwe (AMSZ,
Zimbabwe Government Mine Surveyor's Certificate of Competence an added advantage
