Job Description
A private company is looking for a specialist individual to help establish, operate and manage a clean and renewable energy One Stop Shop Centre specialising in the procurement, selling, installation and testing of Solar systems and accessories as well as solarised irrigation system equipment and accessories in Harare.
Duties and Responsibilities
Experience required
The individual being sought for a fixed term contract is expected to have the following experience and skills;
• Experience working for an established solar and/or solar irrigation systems company
• Have traceable contacts in procurement of solar accessories
• Have experience in installation of solar systems
• Proven knowledge and skills to manage and run a solar shop
• Skills in solar systems and/or solarised borehole installation, technical designs and sizing.
• Ability to assess household or commercial solar system requirements and demands as well as site conditions.
• Experience in vetting and procuring solar batteries, solar pumps, panels, controllers, VFDs, piping, and other accessories
• Vet and source/procure solarised irrigation equipment: submersible/surface pumps, drip/sprinkler kits, filters, fertigation units
• Ability to produce Bill of Quantities and technical drawings
• Understanding of ZERA standards and energy demand standards and regulatory aspects in Zimbabwe.
• Supervision of solar shop and installation teams and experience in performance testing
• Provision of after sales and technical support and training of team members.
• Receive stock, check deliveries, update inventory system
• Do daily stock counts and cycle counts
Qualifications and Experience
Required Qualifications & Skills
• Education: Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Agricultural Engineering, or related field
• Experience: 4+ years working with solar PV + solar water pumping/irrigation systems.
• ZERA or other installer certification is an advantage
• Soft skills: Training/facilitation, problem-solving, ability to work with rural communities
• Marketing skills are required.
• Experience in retail, hardware, electrical, or Agri-inputs shop is desirable
• Valid driver’s licence is required but can be acquired while on the job.
• Willingness to travel to remote areas.
