Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen in an Online Shop for the position of Webshop Operations Manager. The position reports to the Website Manager. The role entails achieving set targets for the Online Shop through efficiently and effectively utilising all material, financial, human and technological resources. The role requires a techno-savvy, energetic and dynamic individual who has an in-depth understanding of online business, FMCG fulfilment processes, international payment platforms and appreciation of the national and global retail business trends and environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Establish practices, programs and procedures for the daily operations of the Online Shop around the country that will ensure a stable, profitable and growing of business.
• Actively and aggressively drive the implementation of business development initiatives in line with corporate strategy.
• Monitor competition and develop strategies and initiatives with a specific focus on tapping and dominating the Diaspora market.
• Work with procurement and service departments on a regular basis and develop innovative promotions to drive sales.
• Collate, interpret and effectively communicate data analytics monthly and on an ad-hoc basis.
• Effectively lead the Online team and ensure that the team is well equipped in terms of work tools and knowledge.
• Establish a structure of processes that supports growth of people, warehouse and logistics.
• Take a lead role in growing the online sales with suggesting online marketing initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws i.e. licenses, regulations, registrations etc.
• Perform monthly, quarterly and bi-annual performance reviews for Online staff members.
• Maintain an organizational structure that promotes fair distribution of work while maintaining maximum services to the customers and various business stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal person must possess the following:
• A University Degree/Diploma in Information Technology, Business Management, Operations Management or any relevant field from a reputable University or College.
• Excellent communication, verbal and written.
• Strong leadership skills and excellent customer service.
• Proficiency in using MS Office packages (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word & Excel)
• Team player with a passion for innovation and technology.
• Strong data analytic skills.
• Understands and keeps up-to-date with local, national, regional and international policies and trends that affect the organization.
• Attention to detail and strong organisational and time-planning skills.
• Technical ability, or knowledge of web design an added advantage.
• Two years in a managerial position preferably in a retail or IT environment.
• Must have an understanding of human resource management concepts.
