Duties and Responsibilities

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
● Assist in the preparation and execution of conservation projects, annual work-plans
with clear objectives and achievement benchmarks
● Assist in collecting, organising, analysing and visualisations using GIS software (e.g.,
ArcGIS, QGIS) to support ongoing projects.
● Collaborate on projects related to [specific projects or initiatives relevant to the
organisation.
● Conduct research to identify new data sources or methodologies for improving GIS
processes.
● Timely compilation of project reports for various audiences;
● Assist in preparing reports and presentations to communicate findings and methods.
Assist in ensuring adequate documentation (including stories, lessons learnt and best
practices) for all activities undertaken during the Project

Qualifications and Experience

Required Qualifications.
● Students studying for appropriate conservation field (wildlife, forestry, environment,
natural resource management, or related field with work attachment requirement
Required Skills and Competencies.
● Team player;
● Ability and willingness to travel to field locations, accompanied by WWF
staff.
● The ability to work under pressure;
● Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop and maintain
strong relationships at all levels, within WWF Zimbabwe and, as required
under the guidance of WWF staff, with external stakeholders;
● Excellent oral and written communication skills in English;
● Identifies and aligns with the core values of the WWF organisation: Courage, Integrity,
Respect & Collaboration

5. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Internal.
Interacts and works closely and on a regular basis with the Conservation team in WWF
Zimbabwe office, as well as with other WWF Zimbabwe senior managers and operations
staff.
External.
Under the guidance and supervision of a WWF staff, engage actively with relevant
stakeholders as and when assigned
