Job Description

The following positions have arisen within the City of Bulawayo

Accounting Manager — Rates —Revenue (Grade 10)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares the rates section annual budget
• Prepares monthly cash and capital debtors reports
• Reviews cashbook entries
• Facilitates posting of receipting machines as well as accounting for them at the Revenue Hall
• Actions tariff increase changes for rates, rentals and supplementary charges for eastern suburbs
• Authorises cash and service fee Journals
• Reviews the termination of accounts
• Authorises rates clearance certificates
• Authorises the section's payment vouchers
• Supervises Accountants in the section

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelors' degree in Accounting or equivalent
• Membership of an accounting body an added advantage
• At least 5 years' experience in the relevant field
• Strong managerial, planning, organizational, decision-making, interpersonal, and analytical skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to communicate and negotiate with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
