Job Description
Zambezi Gas and Coal Mine, a fast growing coal mine which supplies coal to all sectors of the industry seeks to consider suitable and qualified candidates for the following positions:
Assistant Accountant-Costing
The position exists to analyse cost expenditures and purchases within the organization to enable pursuit of cost-efficient and financially feasible options.
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties of the position include, inter alia:
Develop and maintain the cost accounting system of the organization.
Analyse production costs and prepare regular reports comparing budgeted costs to actual production costs. Prepare and complete internal cost audits.
Recommend changes to the Company's processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit
Assemble and arrange sectional input for preparation of a consolidated Company budget.
Reconcile balance sheet ledger accounts.
Assist in external audits and general ledger preparation.
Supervise sectional clerical staff.
Qualifications and Experience
PERSON SPECIFICATION
The successful candidate must have:
A Bachelors' degree M Accounting or Finance.
Three (3) years' experience in a cost accounting role.
Strong computer literacy (Advanced Excel & Accounting Software). Experience in Sage 300C an added advantage.
Membership of a professional accounting/auditing body and Accounting articles will be a distinct advantage
