Job Description


Job Background
Franto Research Consultancy’s community engagement program seeks to promote the primary prevention of mental health breakdowns amongst
the youths living with disabilities in Bulawayo through the Harm Reduction Project (HRP) that promotes psychosocial support for any youth living
with a disability. The HRP seeks to capacitate and empower the youths living with disabilities in Bulawayo with knowledge and skills to be resilient
and adaptive to mental health pressures/crisis. Under the overall guidance of the Community Engagement Officer and the direct supervision of
the Project Officer, the Assistant Project Officer provides programme support services ensuring high quality, accuracy and consistency of work,
beneficiary identification and registration as well as project implementation.
Job Summary
Conduct Project’s activities on a day-to-day basis, with the prime responsibility of ensuring that the project produces the results specified in the
Annual Work Plan, including the budgeting and control of the financial commitments. Formulate programme strategies and support the
Community Engagement Action Plan. Facilitates the identification and registration of the project beneficiaries as well as knowledge building and
knowledge sharing.

Duties and Responsibilities


Key Responsibilities
 Conduct Project’s activities on a day-to-day basis, with the prime responsibility of ensuring that the project produces the results
specified in the Annual Work Plan, including the budgeting and control of the financial commitments
 Review project components, develop Project resource profiles and timelines, and assess delivery issues and works with relevant
stakeholders to build common understanding and coordination on projects activities
 Work with Coordinators and Project Officer to build common understanding and coordination on project activities;
 Participation in meetings and events related to the project.
 Formulate programme strategies and support the Community Engagement Action Plan
 Collection, analysis and presentation of information for identification of areas for support and programme formulation/

 Organize information and monitor performance of project’s accounting with oversight on delivery accounting services
 Ability to perform a variety of standard tasks related to Results Management, including screening and collecting of programme/
projects documentation, projects data entering, preparation of revisions, filing, provision of information
 Ability to provide input to business processes re-engineering, implementation of new system, including new IT based systems
 Good knowledge of Results Management Guide and Toolkit
 Desirable Knowledge of international technical cooperation (design, implementation, follow-up and evaluation of technical
cooperation projects).
 Leadership and Self-Management
 Focuses on result for the client and responds positively to feedback
 Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude
 Remains calm, in control and good humored even under pressure
implementation.
 Creation of projects, preparation of budget revisions, revision of project award and project status, determination of unutilized funds,
operational and financial closure of a project.
 Presentation of information for audit.
 Administrative support to organization of conferences, workshops, retreats and other national and international events.
 Knowledge building and knowledge sharing focusing on achievement of the participation in the trainings for the operations/ projects
staff on programme and contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice
 Accurate data entry and financial information have an impact on the quality and implementation of the HRP programme. A clientoriented and efficient approach impact on the image of Franto Research Consultancy (FRC) in the country.

Qualifications and Experience

1. University Degree in Business or Public Administration, Economics, Political Science, Social Sciences, Human Sciences. Knowledge on
Purchasing, Accounting and Finance is desirable
2. 4 years of relevant administrative or programme experience compatible with the activities related in this term of reference is required
at the national or international level
3. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and knowledge of spreadsheet and database
packages, experience in handling of web based management systems
4. Work and experience for more than 3 years in Program area of any of the agencies of the UN system or NGO sector will be an added
advantage
5. Language fluency in English, IsiNdebele and Shona
