Branch Supervisor (Grade C4) – Bulawayo
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the above vacancy that has arisen within First Mutual Life Assurance Company.
The Job
Reporting to the Retail Administration Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Duties and Responsibilities
* Supervising Individual Life Business (ILB), Employee Benefits (EB) and pension payroll administration within the Western Region.
* Overseeing the processing of new business proposals and ensuring accuracy of client and policy information.
* Supervising policy administration activities, including premium billing, collections, reconciliations, suspense management and policy servicing.
* Maintaining effective relationships with stop order authorities and ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding premium payments.
* Supervising claims administration, client service delivery and the timely settlement of claims and refunds.
* Coordinating Employee Benefits scheme administration, including scheme maintenance, claims benefit calculations and claims processing, monthly returns and stakeholder relationship management.
* Supervising pension payroll administration and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of pension payments.
* Implementing operational strategies, policies, procedures and process improvements to support business objectives.
* Leading, coaching and managing branch staff, including performance management, training and development.
* Monitoring operational performance, service quality, departmental budgets and income targets, and preparing management reports.
* Ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements and quality management standards.
Qualifications and Experience
The Person
The ideal candidate must possess the following:
* Degree in Insurance and Risk Management or an equivalent professional qualification such as IIZ, IISA or CII Associate.
* At least 3 years’ experience in the insurance industry with a minimum of 1 year at supervisory level.
* Sound knowledge of Insurance Administration, Claims Processing, Policy Services and Employee Benefits Administration.
* Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and insurance administration systems.
