Job Description

A position has arisen for a confident, numerically astute individual with strong negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills to join our client. The successful candidate will report to the Medical Wholesale Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Analysing market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.
• Preparing comparative schedules, evaluating, and recommending suitable suppliers to the Procurement Manager.
• Purchasing goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.
• Following up on documents and payments to ensure supplier payments are done in line with service level agreements.
• Advising suppliers of approved purchase orders and following up for product delivery.
• Providing analysis on costs, new and existing, and reviews cost reduction activities.
• Preparing medical supplies / procurement and market reports.
• Creating new and updating existing product codes within the system for user departments.
• Liasing with legal department in the preparation of suppliers’ contracts.

Qualifications and Experience

• Higher National Diploma in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
• Pharmacy Technician Diploma.
• 4 years experience in Purchasing or Supply Chain Management or a similar environment.
• Experience in a medical supplies environment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Able to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
• Able to work well under pressure.
• Keen attention to detail.
