POSITION: CHIEF ENGINEER
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Reporting to the General Manager and based at Head Office, the Chief Engineer provides technical and operational strategic direction for business continuity and growth through the management of the organization's infrastructure and processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Managing the organization's infrastructure and guaranteeing its availability and performance for business continuity and growth
• Developing and directing the business's technical and operational plans
• Producing management reports on plant performance and availability
• Preparation of the organization's technical and capital projects budgets
• Managing all technical projects from conception through to engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning
• Approving and monitoring expenditure and purchases on all technical requirements
• Managing and development of departmental staff
• Managing organisational Safety, Health and the Environment (SH E) and Quality Assurance
• Reporting on the performance of the Technical Department
Qualifications and Experience
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• A first degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a reputable institution
• A Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) is an added advantage
• At least 10 years work experience, five (5) of which should be in a senior management role.
• Valid ZIE and ECZ Pr. Eng registration is a must
• Working knowledge of industrial automation, project management and maintenance
• Oil industry experience is a distinct advantage
