Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following vacancies that have arisen at Bindura University of Science Education

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

Investigating all crimes and reporting to the Chief Security Officer;
Supervising Security Officers;
Conducting Security Operations in liaison with the Chief Security Officer;
Assisting the Chief Security Officer in Departmental Administration;
Coordinating of Security Services with the community and liaising with External Security agents;
Supervising and maintaining security books and records;
Intelligence and information gathering to enable pre-planning and prevent potential threats or risks;
Monitoring and enforcement of discipline to all security staff;
To identify performance deficiencies and training needs amongst security personnel;
Ensuring optimum deployment to all University vital points including the Farm(s);
Monitoring and advising the Chief Security Officer on cost-cutting measures;
Develop security strategies that enhance law and order thereby protecting life and property in the University;
Observe and enforce University policies and procedures;
Testifying before the courts of law and or University disciplinary hearings for both students and staff;
Any other duties assigned by the Head of Department or the University Management from time to time.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications and Experience

The applicants must possess a degree in Security and Risk Management or equivalent and a Diploma in Security Management or equivalent;
At least five (5) years of working experience preferably in Police Service or Security Service of which three (3) years should be at a Senior Supervisory level;
In-depth knowledge of security systems;
Experience of working in tertiary education institutions would be an added advantage;
Computer literacy.
