The Zimbabwe Media Commission is inviting suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions that have arisen at the Commission.
JOB TITLE: DOCUMENTATION AND ARCHIVING OFFICER (KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT) X1
GRADE: C3
REPORTS TO: MANAGER – RESEARCH, TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
DEPARTMENT: MEDIA DEVELOPMENT AND GOVERNANCE
STATION: HEAD OFFICE
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Identify, collect, organise, contextualise and curate information and knowledge relevant to the Commission’s mandate.
2. Initiate establishment of systems and processes for identifying, capturing, organising, storing, sharing and applying institutional knowledge.
3. Facilitate conversion of individual and departmental knowledge into institutional knowledge that can be retained and reused.
4. Curate Commission-generated research, reports, policy papers, legal opinions, media-monitoring reports, training materials, publications and regulatory information.
5. Liaise with ICT to develop appropriate systems for storing, searching, accessing and preserving digital knowledge assets.
6. Maintain and preserve indexed repositories of research through classification, storage, access controls and backups.
7. Capture tacit departmental knowledge through interviews, debriefs, case studies, guidance notes and documented procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES:
• Degree or HND in Library and Information Science, Records and Archives Management, Knowledge Management, Information Management, Information Systems or a related field.
• At least two (2) years relevant experience in records management, archives, documentation, information management, library services, archiving or related work.
• Ability to use digital technologies and emerging solutions for records and knowledge management.
• Strong written and verbal communication and report-writing skills.
• Ability to adapt to emerging technologies, including AI and digital preservation.
