Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrician to maintain, repair, and optimize our electrical systems.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and reliability of all electrical infrastructure within our heavy manufacturing operations, minimizing downtime through proactive maintenance and technical expertise.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, ensuring they remain in peak operating condition.
• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues in heavy machinery, automated control systems, and power distribution networks.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with national regulations and industrial safety standards to maintain a hazard-free environment.
• Execute routine inspections and preventative maintenance programs to identify and mitigate potential failures before they occur.
• Work closely with the engineering team to support plant upgrades and the commissioning of new industrial equipment.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications & Experience
• Class 1 Journeyman Electrician Certificate or a Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience within a heavy manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong proficiency in PLC systems, motor control centres (MCCs), and high-voltage distribution.
• Deep understanding of industrial safety protocols (lock-out/tag-out) and electrical schematic interpretation.
• Knowledge of ethanol plant operations or sugar processes will be a distinct advantage.
