Finance And Administration Officer: Lower Centenary Producers Trust (LCPT)

Location: Harare

In partnership with Help from Germany, the Lower Centenary Producers Trust (LCPT) is implementing an Integrated Rural Development and Marketing Project for smallholder farmers in Mbire District of Mashonaland Central Province of Zimbabwe from August 2020 to December 2022. LCPT is therefore inviting applications from qualified personnel to fill in the below vacancies: These are part time positions, where the incumbents will be expected to work on a 50% level of contribution.

Lower Centenary Producers Trust is looking for a highly-analytical and qualified Finance Administrator to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for the financial health of the organization through managing all financial procedures. The duties will include planning budgets, participating in audits, monitoring transactions, and preparing invoices in compliance with organizational and donor financial policies To succeed in this role, one must demonstrate in-depth knowledge of financial policies, procedures, and systems. In addition to being an excellent communicator, the ideal candidate must also have outstanding analytic and time management abilities

Administrative Systems
Develop and maintain information management systems consistent with the needs of the organization; Deal with incoming & outgoing mail; Maintain and update computerized & manual filing systems; Undertake any other reasonable duties as deemed fit and expedient

Duties and Responsibilities

Finance Administrator’s Responsibilities
Reporting to the Finance Controller. The Finance Administrator shall be responsible for: Implement financial policies to guarantee operational efficiency in accordance with LCPT and donor requirements; Oversee the preparation and planning of budgets; Maintain records and receipts for all daily transactions and positing them to appropriate ledger; Maintain efficient, proper, and transparent filing of all financial documents; Process payments as provided in the approved budget; Handle office petty cash and make cash request for petty cash replenishment on time; Ensure that proper authorization is obtained before making any payment; Verification and Reconciliation of all accounting documents; Ensure compliance and enforcement of internal policies, donor regulations and budget restrictions; Assess accuracy and completeness of documentation and conformity with reporting and; procedural Standards; Ensure that all financial records pertaining to the project are properly completed and stored in a secure place; Undertake monthly ban reconciliations and reporting to the Director, Coordinator and Board of Directors; Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for submission in accordance with LCPT and donor requirements; Facilitate timeous payroll processing, payment and submission of statutory obligations such as PAYE and NSSA; Contribute to financial audits; Carry out any other duties as required by management

Qualifications and Experience

Finance Administrator’s Requirements
Higher National Diploma in Accounting, Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant field; 5+ years of experience in a similar position; In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and accounting processes; Proficiency in Accounting software packages such as WINPACCS, PASTEL and SAGE; Willing to learn; Strong communication skills; Good analytic and strategic thinking skills; Supervisory and management experience; Attention to detail
