Job Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill in the following position within the National AIDS Council.

Finance Assistant X 1.
Station: Head Office
Reports to: Finance Officer (Global Fund)

Duties and Responsibilities

KEY FUNCTIONS
• Assist the Project Management Unit in all financial aspects of the GFATM HIV and AIDS programme.
• Assist the NAC unit to maintain financial and programme records for the project in line with relevant guidelines and policies
• Assist in managing the day-to-day financial transactions including payments, processing accounting paperwork and acquittals from partners.
• Check all source documents for completeness, accuracy and alignment with Global Fund and NAC financial policies and procedures
• Provision of fully coded financial transactions data in Pastel accounting system and Global Fund reporting templates
• Assist in the integration of GF financial procedure into NAC financial systems.
• Assist in the preparation of periodic project expenditure reports and financial statements.
• Assist in undertaking project technical support visits to ensure compliance with GF financial procedures.
• Any other duties assigned by anyone in authority

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications and Experience
• Degree in Accounting and professional qualification (CIS, ACCA, CIMA, etc.).
• At least three (3) years relevant experience.
• Sound knowledge of Pastel Evolution is an added advantage.
• Be in possession of a clean class 4 drivers’ licence.
