Job Description
Our client is looking for a Finance Executive.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Daily financial management and accounting of the company and group entities
• Develop a chart of accounts for our system that suits the local market.
• Lead efforts to implement financial Management, accounting, billing, and integrated revenue recognition in the company `s system combining risk and enterprise financial management on the same platform
• Work closely with product and analytics teams on the organizations `s product changes, business changes, and new revenue products to ensure proper revenue recognition.
• Manage and facilitate regular, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting of the company, including drafting financial statements, preparing notes to financial information, and the accompanying management discussion and financial statement analysis. Integrate this within the organization `s platform.
• Assess technical accounting implications for complex business transactions. Review and document complex customer contracts to ensure consistent application of revenue recognition policies following relevant accounting standards.
• Mapping out how the various transactions and use case scenarios will impact the system from a financial and accounting standpoint.
• Facilitate, evaluate, validate, and manage integrations with various financial payment platforms of the organization.
• Reviewing and maintaining all financial systems policies and procedures
• Designing and implementing internal system controls (preventative and detective) to provide quality assurance over financial data
• Provide and promote financial literacy, financial Management, and accounting excellence through the organization `s platform by leveraging technology to ensure informed and accessible risk-first enterprise engagement
• Analyze actual revenue and performance results against forecast, prior quarters, and previous years and provide succinct variance explanations to support the monthly financial results meeting
• Implementing financial management dashboards and risk analytics .
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or another related field
• Experience of working in or providing accounting advice to a financial services organization would be beneficial.
• Experience in the year-end annual report and accounts preparation and production process for an entity with complex reporting requirements.
• Experience in corporation tax submissions and issues.
• Five years of increasingly responsible accounting and reporting experience
• ICAZ certified public accountant or equivalent. Having run multiple audits and accounts for various entities with one of the Big Accounting firms is a significant advantage.
• Advanced skills in all Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, e.g., Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, is strongly desired.
• Experience in regional accounting, audit, and financial management technology processes
• Financial services experience is an added plus.
• Risk Management, Actuarial Science or equivalent experience is a strong positive
• Interest in Fintech/Enterprise SaaS, or early-stage/scale-up data science and analytics experience
• Curiosity and a willingness to learn are essential.
