Job Description

We seek to engage the services of a General Manager for our Fasteners Division. The incumbent is expected to steer the company’s business development and corporate strategy towards achieving its set objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

 Establishing and updating corporate goals and objectives, business philosophy, company business plans and long-range business development in consultation with the Group MD.
 Ensuring the growth and protection of the company’s market share and ensure that profitability is maintained and increased in line with business plans.
 Overseeing all the operations of the company, including setting targets for heads of departments and ensure that these are achieved.
 Ensuring that a high level of stakeholder service and engagement is developed and maintained with clients, suppliers, the public and other government stakeholders.
 Keeping abreast of market trends to ensure competitive products and service are offered by the company.
 High level attention to detail, and comprehensive reporting and management abilities to implement, monitor and manage operations.
 Ensuring that budgets are developed to support business plans and ensuring careful monitoring of the budgets.
 Ensuring control and proper asset utilization, including timeous servicing and maintenance.
 Ensuring adherence to systems and controls by all subordinate staff and departments

Qualifications and Experience

 A relevant Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or any related field.
 A relevant Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
 At least 10 years’ experience 5 of which must be in a senior managerial position, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
 Marketing experience is an added advantage.
 Be a strong leader with good interpersonal skills.
 A self-motivated, proven performer with strong management track record.
