Job Description

Job Title: Graduate Intern- Finance x1
Location: Bulawayo
Purpose of Position
The graduate intern will be responsible for providing support to the Grants/AP Offices in the preparation of the financial reports and participation in the production of the Financial Reports by ensuring that all payment requests are complete, and costs are allowable and allocable to relevant grants in conformity with the World Vision Field Finance Manual (FFM) and Donor's regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Major responsibilities
• Verify that invoice amounts accurately match approved purchase orders or contractual values.
• Ensure all invoices are supported by complete and valid documentation, including tax clearance certificates, verified banking details, goods received vouchers, and service completion confirmations.
• Maintain and update the invoice register, ensuring only complete and verified invoices are recorded.
• Coordinate procurement of office stationery and supplies to ensure continuous operational support.
• Maintain secure custody and control of sensitive financial instruments, including cash and receipt books, in compliance with internal control standards.
• Support internal and external audits by collating, organizing, and validating financial supporting documents in liaison with the Bookkeeper.
• Liaise with the Bookkeeper to ensure audit documentation is complete, accurate, and audit ready.
• Administer petty cash transactions in strict compliance with organizational policy.
• Verify that petty cash vouchers are complete, accurate, and properly authorized prior to disbursement, including correct coding, signatures, approvals, purpose, date, and amount.
• Ensure all petty cash transactions do not exceed the approved limit of USD 100 per voucher. Assist in day-to-day monitoring of all Agribusiness and Nhedziwa farmers Market activities in the AP.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications, Experience and skills required
• A recent graduate with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
• 1-year student internship in an Accounting/ Finance environment handling cash.
• Experience within the NGO sector an added advantage.
• Excellent knowledge of computer packages, especially excel
• Ability to work under minimum supervision and working long hours to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work within a multicultural setting.
• Ability to be a team member is essential, professional and emotional maturity desired.
