JOB VACANCY: HEAVY DUTY MACHINE OPERATOR

ABOUT THE POSITION
We are seeking a competent and safety-conscious Heavy Duty Machine Operator to operate assigned earthmoving or mining equipment in support of excavation, loading, hauling, road maintenance, and other site activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Operate assigned heavy equipment in accordance with approved procedures, task instructions, and site traffic rules.
• Complete pre-start and end-of-shift inspections and report defects, unsafe conditions, and damage immediately.
• Carry out excavation, loading, hauling, grading, pushing, or other tasks within the limits of the machine and assignment.
• Follow supervisor instructions, spotter/banksman signals, exclusion zones, and pedestrian-safety requirements.
• Monitor gauges, warning indicators, machine condition, and operating performance during each shift.
• Maintain accurate equipment logs, operating hours, production records, and defect reports.
• Keep the cab and equipment clean and comply with refuelling, parking, shutdown, and isolation procedures.
• Participate in toolbox talks, safety training, and incident reporting and stop work when conditions are unsafe.
Qualifications and Experience
REQUIREMENTS
• Relevant operator training or competency certification for the specific machine type.
• Demonstrable experience operating one or more machines such as excavators, bulldozers, graders, wheel loaders, dump trucks, or rollers.
• Good understanding of pre-start checks, basic machine care, safe operating limits, blind spots, and site traffic management.
• Ability to follow instructions, communicate clearly, and work effectively with ground crews and spotters.
• Physically fit for site duties and able to work shifts, including weekends or overtime when required.
• Reliable safety record, responsible attitude, and willingness to report defects and near misses promptly.
• Preparedness and willingness to work at a remote mining site.
