Duties and Responsibilities

What we expect from you.

· Perform audit pre-engagement activities including background research, an inspection of relevant business documentation, and holding pre-audit team and client meetings.

· Perform audit planning activities including business risk assessment, walk-through of business processes, and developing the audit planning memorandum (APM) and audit summary worksheet (ASW).

· Produce a detailed draft report of audit findings with sufficient, relevant, and reliable evidence to support the findings.

· Conduct special investigations and produce findings reports and recommendations

· Assess, through relevant procedures, whether management is preserving asset and shareholder value, and report any key issues identified.

· Recommend practical ways to improve work processes.

· Adhere to relevant requirements of the GIA Charter and Manual, Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), local regulations, and international standards.

· Employ a risk-based approach, taking into account the risk profile, volume, and value of activity relevant to the area under audit/review.

· Ensure that all draft reports are accurate, objective, clear, concise, and timeous.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications, Skills, and experience required

· A relevant Bachelor’s Degree e.g. Accounting, Banking, Economics, Insurance, Risk Management

· 2 years post professional qualification experience (Certified Internal Auditor - CIA)

· At least 3 years of auditing experience in the financial services sector or related industry

· Experience with audit software i.e TEAMMATE (and other tools for data analysis)

· Good analytical and business report writing skills

· Good communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills

· Ability to apply principles of project management

· Critical thinking and business acumen skills
