Job Description
Station: LABORATORY LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
Reporting to the Analytical Chemist, the job incumbent will be responsible for optimizing laboratory procedures and succeed in producing reliable and important results that can be used to make a difference.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Receives, labels and analyses samples (water/ soil).
• Designs and executes laboratory testing according to start procedures, make observations and interprets findings.
• Conducts experiments under defined conditions to verify/various types of hypotheses using refined scientific methods.
• Organizes and stores all chemical substances, fluids , compressed gases according to safety instructions. "
• Records all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic workbook) with accuracy and responsibility.
• Maintains equipment and assists in ordering laboratory supplies.
• Ensures that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment.
Qualifications and Experience
• A Diploma in Applied Chemistry.
• A relevant first degree from a recognised University in Chemistry , Engineering, or any other equivalent degree
• At least 3 years of experience in similar role.
