Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the vacant position that has risen in the Faculty of Social and Gender Transformative Sciences at the Women's University in Africa, Harare Campus:
Vacancy
Post: Full-Time Lecturer in Social Work X 2 Posts
• Station: Bulawayo Campus

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities / Key Tasks
Must be able to teach:
• Industrial Social Work;
• Social Work and Disaster Management;
• Child Protection;
• Introduction to Social Work;
• Introduction to Social Welfare;
• Principles and Practices of Rehabilitation;
• Socio-economic Development;
• Healthcare and Maladaptive Behaviour;
• Social policy and Administration; and
• Social Work and Disability
Other Tasks:
• Planning and reviewing course content;
• Monitoring and improving students' educational performance;
• Preparing suitable participatory teaching materials;
• Conducting lecturers and seminars using student-centred methods;
• Evaluating the effectiveness of the learning program;
• Supervising students on attachment;
• Supervising students' research projects;
• Evaluating individual student performance and improving their performance; and
• Assessing, evaluating and recording marks for students.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Social Work;
• Master of Science in Social Work;
• Two (2) years of experience in a lectureship role;
• Registration with the Council of Social Workers;
• Proven research abilities; and
• Proven community engagement activities.

Desired Attributes:
• Strong communication and organisational skills;
• Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Access; and
• Ability to handle multiple priorities with accuracy and to pay attention to detail.
