Job Description
The Group wishes to invite applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill in the Locum Nurse - Ambulance Technician role that has arisen within our organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
Checks equipment availability and serviceability prior and after patient evacuation and during change of each shift.
Cleans and disinfects all medical equipment after each call for infection control purposes.
Follows up and collects equipment left on the patient and reports to the Team Lead Operations and Training.
Reports and follows up on all non-working equipment to establish return of equipment.
Maintains and ensures adequate ambulance supplies that include linen, stationery, surgical sundries and drugs.
Ensures the ambulance technician checks and carries out basic ambulance checks.
Facilitates First Aid training and any other training within scope of certification.
Interfaces with clients requesting specific training and refers all customised training request to the Cimas Rescue Manager for approval.
Conducts research on applicable educational topics and develops related training presentations.
Delivers courses either at the Training Academy or off-site, as needed in line with course schedules and client requirements.
Reviews and analysis requested training courses and submit to the Cimas Rescue manager for approval.
Writes and reviews all local courses manuals.
Schedules all in house staff training.
Maintains and ensures complete and up to date training records.
Ensures that course participants get course completion certificates within two weeks of course completion.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidate Requirements
Diploma in General Nursing.
Ambulance Technician or EMT qualification.
2-4 Years’ experience in a similar environment.
Valid Practicing Certificate with Allied Health Professions Council.
Knowledge of Basic First Aid and Basic Life Support.
