Job Description
The candidate will be tasked with integrating mechanical fitting skills and precision machining techniques. This role focuses on the assembly, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and machine tools. Utilizing equipment such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders, the Machinist will produce components to exact specifications, ensuring exceptional accuracy and quality in all outputs.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform precise calculations of dimensions and tolerances using mathematical knowledge and precision instruments such as micrometers and Vernier calipers.
Operate machine tools include lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders to manufacture parts according to specifications.
Inspect and test finished components using precision tools to ensure they meet required standards and are free from defects.
Set up, adjust, and operate a variety of basic and advanced machine tools for high-accuracy machine tasks.
Secure fixtures, cutting tools, accessories, and materials properly on machines to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Monitor machine feed rates and speeds during production to maintain optimal performance.
Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials for each machining task.
Assemble and fit parts for the construction or repair of machine tools.
Support artisans in evaluating experimental procedures and suggest improvements for better efficiency and adaptability.
Create working sketches to illustrate product design and appearance.
Assist welders in setting up and operating equipment for metalworking, brazing, heat-treating, welding, and cutting.

5 ‘O’ level subjects including English Language
Class One Journeyman Trade Test Certificate
Diploma in Fitting and Machining
Minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience
