Job Description
Domboshava MedClinic (Pvt) Hospital, which is in the process of establishing a modern theatre complex, invites applications from committed and experienced Medical Practitioners for the position of Part-Time Medical Practitioner, preferably a semi-retired clinician who is comfortable working within a predominantly female maternity care environment.
This position is ideally suited to a medical practitioner who is passionate about maternity services, maternal wellbeing, and community-based healthcare.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Part-Time Medical Practitioner will work with experienced midwives, providing overall clinical leadership and supervision of medical services, with a strong focus on safe maternity care, maternal and child health, and the delivery of ethical, patient-centred, and high-quality clinical services.
Provide medical oversight and support for maternity and outpatient services.Part-time engagement on a sessional basis for a minimum of two (2) days per week, including Saturdays from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Flexible scheduling by mutual agreement for additional sessions.
Availability to provide clinical advice and escalation support outside physical sessions via telephone call, text message, or WhatsApp on a 24/7 on-call advisory basis.
Fixed retainer commensurate with availability, experience, and scope of responsibility, together with agreed sessional remuneration.
Remote supervision and mentor nursing and midwifery staff.
Participate in clinical governance, quality assurance, and patient safety initiatives.
Provide guidance on referrals and escalation of care.
Promote ethical practice and adherence to professional standards.
Qualifications and Experience
Registered Medical Practitioner with the relevant Zimbabwean regulatory authorities.
Experience in maternal and child health, emergency care, or rural health services will be an added advantage.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
A passion for mentorship and community healthcare delivery.
