HARARE, GWERU, MASVINGO, MUTARE
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the above vacancy that has arisen within First Mutual Health Services.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Job
Reporting to the Head of Optometry, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
• Conducting comprehensive eye examinations
• Diagnosing and managing common eye conditions
• Prescribing and dispensing spectacles
• Providing basic treatment within scope of practice and refer complex cases appropriately
• Referring patients requiring specialised or surgical care to secondary or tertiary facilities
• Educating patients on eye health, hygiene
• Maintaining accurate patient records
• Practicing in accordance with professional, ethical and legal standards
Qualifications and Experience
The Person
The ideal candidate must possess the following:
• Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Optometry
• 1 year experience in an optometry environment
• Excellent communication
• Strong clinical and diagnostic skills in optometry
• Attention to detail
• High levels of integrity
