Job Description
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for a job opportunity of a PHARMACIST that has arisen within NECTACARE (PVT) LTD at Nectacare Chrome Mines Hospital in Shurugwi.
The purpose of the job shall include dispensing drugs and medicines prescribed by physicians and health practitioners, observing and conforming to all the laws and customs of/ or affecting the PHARMACY and /or health services provision and ensuring compliance with accurate procedures, code of conduct and other relevant regulatory codes.
Duties and Responsibilities
Dispensing medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
Controlling medications by monitoring drug therapies and advising on interventions.
Providing advice on the dosage of medicines and the most appropriate form of
medication
Ensuring compliance with MCAZ, PCZ and Medical ethics and procedures at all times as
per Health Professions Act, including but not limited to ensuring the pharmacy is licenced.
Overseeing the organisation of inventory in the pharmacy including but not limited to
ordering, receiving, maintaining, ensuring safe storage and handling the inventory
appropriately.
Qualifications and Experience
Ideal Candidate must:
• Have a Bachelor of Pharmacy Honors Degree
• Have 3 years’ relevant experience as a Pharmacist with a minimum of 2 years post-
graduation experience
• Have a current and valid practicing license
• Be a person of integrity with a strong client focus
• Be a team player with good communication skills
• Have a mathematical aptitude;
• Be swift and accurate in execution of duties
• Have a commitment to handling private and confidential information with a high degree of professionalism
