Job summary
Member of staff accountable to the Pharmacy Manager and responsible for managing the hospital pharmaceutical services, hospital pharmacy department and services.
Duties and Responsibilities
key responsibilities
Ordering of commodities from Nat Pharm and the private companies
Ensure accurate dispensing and distribution of drugs, medicines and surgical sundries to patients; and monitor medicine side effects
Provide advice to clinicians and patients on how to achieve best results with available drugs and medicines
Facilitate training of pharmacy personnel and advice medical staff on pharmaceutical utilization.
To supervise and delegate duties to junior pharmacy staff
Contribute to hospital service policy formulation, review and planning process
Participate in the development and implementation of the hospital overall annual plan
Prepare hospital pharmaceutical service monthly, quarterly, annual and other plans and reports
Execute any other duties as may be delegated by the supervisor
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications and requirements
• Diploma in Pharmacy (Pharmacy Technician)
• Computer literacy
• Valid Practicing Certificate
• Registered with the Pharmacists Council of Zimbabwe
