The company is seeking a dedicated Quality & Process Control Technician to join their dynamic team in Harare
Quality Control and Process Monitoring
Define and control all critical process control points
Apply root cause analysis and manage countermeasures to maintain process control
Keep product specifications updated with latest process improvements
Monitor and analyze process control and quality management system data daily, reporting on trends
Ensure production and engineering teams adhere to plant process control parameters and quality standards
Participate in WCM improvement projects and ensure ISO 9001 system adherence
Laboratory Management
Ensure efficient laboratory services to production
Calibrate quality testing equipment and maintain laboratory standards
Train laboratory analysts in chemical handling and testing procedures
Continuously improve QC laboratory capabilities
Record, verify, and report QC performance data
Conduct tests following SOPs and standard methods
Maintain laboratory safety, cleanliness, and good housekeeping practices, including 5S audits
Cover for laboratory analysts in their absence and investigate deviations in results
Safety and Compliance
Participate in HSE activities and ensure safety compliance
Manage plant trials and chemical stock control
Oversee the Quick Kaizen System and lead quality meetings
Report problems or discrepancies to the process engineer
Support social responsibility initiatives and corporate governance standards
Additional Duties
Perform other functions or work in other areas as assigned by the process engineer
Engage in social upliftment programs aligned with SGCPZ
Adhere to risk management protocols and corporate governance policies
Minimum Requirements
Diploma/Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
Quality management qualification or willingness to obtain one
3-5 years’ relevant experience in manufacturing, quality control, laboratory, or process improvement environments
Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems, including ISO 9001
Experience with quality control testing, laboratory practices, and calibration of testing equipment
Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies, Root Cause Analysis, and corrective actions
Exposure to WCM, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or other improvement principles is advantageous
Proficiency in analyzing process and quality data to identify trends
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
ISO 9001 auditor/implementer certification is advantageous
Proficiency in MS Office
