Job Description

• Source and sign clients with high-volume cargo across Zimbabwe and the SADC region.
• Build and manage a robust sales pipeline targeting sectors such as mining, agriculture, FMCG, and manufacturing.
• Negotiate freight rates and service-level agreements with clients.
• Collaborate with the Operations team to ensure smooth handover of confirmed loads.
• Maintain client relationships and drive repeat business and long-term contracts.
• Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates for management.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prospect and acquire new clients with high-volume cargo transportation needs across Zimbabwe and the SADC region.
• Develop and execute a strategic sales pipeline targeting industries such as mining, agriculture, manufacturing, retail, and FMCG.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with freight owners, procurement managers, and supply chain decision-makers.
• Negotiate freight rates and service agreements that are commercially viable for both the client and the company.
• Conduct market research to identify emerging cargo opportunities, new routes, and industry trends within the SADC corridor.
• Collaborate closely with the Operations team to ensure seamless handover of confirmed loads and client expectations.
• Prepare and present tailored proposals, quotations, and contracts to prospective and existing clients.
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date CRM database of all client interactions, leads, and pipeline progress.
• Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly revenue targets.
• Represent Star International Logistics at industry events, trade shows, and networking forums.
• Provide weekly sales reports and forecasts to management.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum 3 years' experience in a sales role within the transport, logistics, or freight brokerage industry.
• Demonstrable knowledge of road freight operations across the SADC region (Zimbabwe, South Africa, Zambia, Mozambique, Namibia, Tanzania, Botswana, etc.).
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a B2B environment.
• Strong network of contacts within freight-generating industries is a distinct advantage.
• Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools.
• Valid driver's licence.
