Reporting To: Head of Sales & Marketing
Purpose of the Job
To drive aggressive sales growth by targeting large construction projects, contractors, construction companies, schools, institutions, and industrial clients, while expanding market presence and strengthening the TECHIAD and G&S Chemicals brands.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Project, Contractor & Institutional Sales (Core Focus)
• Actively target and sell G&S Chemicals and TECHIAD products to large construction projects
• Develop and manage relationships with contractors, construction companies, developers, and civil engineers
• Sell to institutional clients including schools, hospitals, mines, government departments, and industries
• Identify upcoming projects, tenders, and bulk supply opportunities
• Prepare quotations, negotiate prices, and close high-volume deals
2. Business Development & Market Expansion
• Hunt for new business opportunities in the construction, industrial, and institutional sectors
• Expand the company footprint in new territories and growth zones
• Grow bulk, project-based, and repeat business clients
• Work closely with management to support the opening and servicing of new retail outlets
3. Sales Generation & Account Management
• Generate consistent sales orders to meet and exceed set targets
• Maintain and grow existing key accounts
• Drive van sales and cash sales where required
• Ensure excellent customer service and after-sales support
4. Market & Competitor Intelligence
• Collect and report market intelligence on competitor pricing, products, and promotions
• Provide feedback from contractors and project sites to management
• Identify product gaps and customer needs to inform strategy
5. Digital Marketing & Communication Support
• Support basic digital marketing through WhatsApp groups and social media engagement
• Share product information, promotions, and project successes online
• Coordinate with the marketing team on campaigns and product promotions
6. Reporting & Administration
• Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports
• Maintain an accurate database of clients, leads, and projects
• Submit visit plans, call reports, and sales forecasts
• Perform any other duties assigned by management
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Qualifications
• Diploma or Degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Management, or related field
• Sales or marketing certifications are an added advantage
Experience
• Minimum 2–4 years sales experience, preferably in construction materials, chemicals, or industrial supplies
• Proven experience selling to contractors, construction companies, schools, mines, or large projects
• Experience in project-based or B2B sales is highly desirable
Skills & Competencies
• Strong negotiation, selling, and closing skills
• Ability to identify and win large accounts and projects
• Good understanding of the construction and chemical products market
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work independently and meet targets
• Clean Class 4 driver’s licence is an added advantage
