Position Details
Job Title: SHEQ Officer
Department: Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ)
Reporting To: Site Agent
Location: Construction Site
Employment Type: Full-Time
Job Purpose
The SHEQ Officer is responsible for ensuring the effective implementation, monitoring, and
enforcement of Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) standards on
construction sites. The role focuses on preventing workplace accidents, ensuring compliance
with legal and client requirements, protecting the environment, maintaining quality standards,
and promoting a strong safety culture among employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts and conditions.
Monitor compliance with site-specific safety plans, method statements, and risk
assessments.
Ensure all workers wear and properly use the required Personal Protective Equipment
(PPE).
Facilitate daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Conduct site inductions for new employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
Monitor high-risk activities
Stop unsafe work practices and report serious violations to site management.
Ensure adequate emergency preparedness, including fire prevention and evacuation
procedures.
Maintain first aid facilities and emergency equipment on site
.Incident Management - Investigate accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, and
near misses.
Compile detailed incident reports and submit findings to management.
Health Management - Monitor occupational health risks on site.
Environmental Management - Ensure compliance with environmental management
plans and legal requirements.
Compliance and Documentation
Qualifications and Experience
Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental
Management, or a related field.
Valid First Aid Certificate.
Knowledge of construction safety regulations and standards.
Experience
Minimum 3 years' experience in a SHEQ role within the construction industry.
