Job Description


Key Accountabilities:
The Sourcing Officer shall be responsible for the following:

Duties and Responsibilities


• Engaging suppliers in the registration process where supplier has intention of working with Lafarge.
• Coordinating pre-screening before initiating business relationship with i suppliers.
• Tracking assessment results across countries and coordinating follow-ups within country/cluster.
• Conducting Contractor Health and Safety Management assessments for suppliers.
• Coordinating with Country/Cluster the risk mitigation activities to address all gaps: remediation plans and / or the discontinuation of the non-qualified suppliers.
• Running the day to day functions of the Sourcing desk through execution of work assigned by the Superior.
• Observing purchasing procedures and policies in the day to day execution of duties.
• Implementing sourcing strategies to achieve the desired results for the organization.
• Ensuring that spares, raw materials, consumables and support service are always available to support production demands.
• Exploring of the market and initiating relationships with OEMs and authorized distributors to create a large pool of supply base against which supply choices and options are made.
• Negotiating flexible and sustainable payment terms with suppliers.
• Negotiating and drafting contracts for the supply of goods and services within desired product families in assigned areas of responsibilities.

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications:
• Degree in Supply Chain Management/HND or Purchasing Diploma
• At least 5 years' experience in a manufacturing/Mining environment. 2 Years must have been at supervisory level.
Key Competencies:
Sourcing Officer needs to also possess the following:
• Good knowledge of financial analysis
• Good knowledge of commercial law and contract management
• Knowledge of inventory, logistics and control
