Job Description
The purpose of the job is to provide accurate results for customer satisfaction and ensuring safety and quality of products within the industry, giving assurance of quality to all stakeholders
Duties and Responsibilities
• Carry out testing on a variety of samples including manufactured finished goods, raw materials and/ ingredients
• Evaluation and validation of test methods
• Implementation and maintenance of the laboratory management system in compliance to ISO/IEC 17025
• Test reports compilation
• Participate in inter – laboratory comparison tests including Proficiency testing
• Participate in standards development as a technical expert
Qualifications and Experience
National Diploma in Chemistry or equivalent
At least 2 years post qualification experience in a testing laboratory
Instrumentation technics a must (HPLC, GC-MS, ICP-OES, UV-vis, XRF, Bomb Calorimeter)
Computer literate
Good communication skills
BSc. Hon. Chemical Technology, Applied Chemistry or equivalent is an added advantage
Knowledge and application of ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory management system in a testing laboratory is an added advantage
Knowledge of laboratory information management systems is an added advantage
