ROLE PROFILE
AFC Insurance Company, a subsidiary of AFC Holdings seeks to recruit two Underwriters reporting to the Senior Underwriter. The Underwriter will be responsible for assessing insurance risks, determining appropriate coverage and ensuring that policies issued are profitable while meeting customer needs and regulatory requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities Assessing insurance applications to determine the level of risk involved.
o Evaluating client information, including claims history, financial records, and other relevant documentation.
• Accepting, declining, or modifying insurance proposals based on underwriting guidelines.
• Determining appropriate premiums, policy terms, conditions, and coverage limits.
• Ensuring all underwriting decisions comply with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
Liaising with brokers, agents, relationship managers, and clients regarding underwriting decisions. o Maintaining accurate underwriting records and documentation.
Ensuring timely issuance of insurance quotations, policies, and renewal notices.
Ensuring excellent customer service by responding promptly to underwriting queries.
Preparing underwriting reports for management.

Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, Actuarial Science, Business Studies, Economics, or a related field.
Professional insurance qualifications (such as ACI, Diploma in Insurance, or equivalent) are an added advantage.
2-5 years' underwriting experience, depending on the level of the role.
