Job Description
CARITAS Hwange is the Relief and Development arm of the Roman Catholic Church under the Diocese of Hwange. Vacancies have arisen for the following posts in Hwange and Nkayi districts.
(WASH IN SCHOOLS)
Wash Program Officer (Nkayi District)
Duties and Responsibilities
Principal responsibilities;
• Technical assessment of water and sanitation facilities in selected schools.
• Supervising and monitoring the drilling of boreholes, rehabilitation of boreholes, solarisation of water facilities and construction of latrine toilets in selected schools.
• Water quality testing with relevant authorities and monitoring.
• Training on water use efficiency.
• Training on Interactive PHHE.
• Establishment and training of School Health Clubs.
• Establishment and training of Water-point Committees.
• Identification and training of Village Pump-minders and latrine builders.
• Report writing.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications and experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health.
• 3 years experience as an Environmental Health Technician / Officer.
• Possess a clean Class 4 driver's licence.
• As an aspiring employee of the faith based organisation, the candidate should be sober-minded, honest, self-motivated with outstanding inter-personal skills.
