The City of Gweru invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following vacant positions.
Welder
Department: Spatial Planning and Development
Reporting To: The Chief Foreman
Job Purpose:
To carry out welding, fabrication, repair and maintenance work on Council infrastructure, equipment and facilities.
Qualifications and Experience:
Qualified Class 1 Artisan, who must have served a four-year apprenticeship in Welding and Metal Fabrication or Trade-Tested Artisan Class 1.
A National Certificate in Welding and Metal Fabrication is an added advantage.
At least two years' relevant practical experience in welding and metal fabrication.
Knowledge of welding equipment, MIG/TIG or gas welding experience will be an added advantage.
Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings.
Knowledge of safety procedures.
