HEAD HUMAN RESOURCES
RESPONSIBILITY
The incumbent will report to the Group Chief Executive Officer.
KEY JOB PURPOSE
The Head Human Resources is responsible for developing, implementing and reviewing best practice Human Resources policies, procedures and strategies in line with the goals and targets of the company; in a manner that meets the company’s responsibility to its employees and other stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, implement and review Human Resource strategies, policies and procedures in support of the entire business;
Interpret company policies and labour legislation and ensure that the company’s business units comply with the same;
Manage the company’s recruitment, selection, employee transfer and exit processes ensuring that all divisions and business units are adequately staffed;
Develop manpower policies and strategies for the company ensuring the company has the right skills and competencies to achieve its business objectives;
Champion, manage and build a culture of superior performance through an effective performance management system;
Administer andmanage compensation and benefit plans in compliance with company standards and policies;
Manage staff satisfaction, develop and implement programmes designed to improve the same;
Foster a harmonious Industrial Relations climate within the company based on building productive relationships at all levels;
Develop, implement and review the company’s training and development policies and programmes;
Provide expert advice on the development and implementation of organisational structures that support the business strategy;
Develop a change management strategy including timelines and milestones to measure impact of changes.

Qualifications and Experience

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Bachelor of Social Science Degree, Bachelor of Commerce in Human Resource Management or equivalent;
An MBA,MBL or other relevant Master’s Degree;
7 - 9 years relevant experience in Human Resources Management and/ or Labour Relations, 4 years of which should be in a managerial position.

COMPETENCIES

Must have an appreciation of the contribution of human resources to the bottom-line;
Proven ability to motivate staff and align to strategic objectives;
Excellent communication and negotiation skills;
Relevant experience in the design and implementation of change management strategies;
Clear understanding of a multi-faceted business operation.
