About
Zimbabwe Health Interventions is a not for profit human development organization which is registered as a Trust under the Zimbabwe Deeds Registries Act (Chapter 20:05). ZHI’s mission is to develop and deliver innovative and sustainable high impact integrated health interventions with local communities while working with and strengthening existing institutions.

Basic function
In close liaison with Senior HR Officer (SHRO), the position provides operational support to implement effective functional Human Resources (HR) processes for ZHI in team functional areas including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compensation, payroll, leave management , time administration ,HRIS and training & development. Serves as initial point of contact for employees who require HR support. Processes various forms related to documenting human resources activities such as new employees, change-of-status, performance evaluations, benefits, terminations, etc conducts new employee orientations and facilitates employee exit interviews.

Duties and Responsibilities

Support the recruitment process with tasks such as, creation of entries into HRIS system and subsequent scheduling of interviews, creation of interview files and conducting reference checks; Offering first line support to line managers and staff members; Enhancing staff performance by adding value to the current performance management tool and initiatives; Facilitating for employee development initiatives which will address the current performance gaps; Training of Supervisors and line managers on ZHI HR policies and processes; Draft offer letters under guidance of SHRO and communicate to candidates where relevant; HRIS administration including entering new employees into the system and subsequent changes until separation; Conduct new hire orientation and ensure all relevant documents are included on orientation package; Prepares for interviews and onboarding process; Maintain an accurate personnel filing system for all staff, ensuring that each individual file conforms to audit expectations; Maintain an accurate record of employee leave ensuring compliance with statutory and ZHI leave policies; Benefits Administration: Collect the required data / documentation for the health insurance scheme and group life insurance scheme and maintain a status spreadsheet for the scheme; Payroll Administration: Prepare and process monthly payroll, in close liaison with SHRO and Finance department; Time sheet administration using manual and electronic time reporting system; Prepare, facilitate for payment and submit monthly statutory remittances such as NSSA and NEC; Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

Knowledge, skills and abilities
Work independently with minimum supervision showing initiative to manage high volume work flow; Ability to priorities work and report to supervisor on variances and provide status on regular basis; Perform detail-oriented work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail; Interact with diplomacy and tact and follow - up on requests in timely and efficient manner; High level of confidentiality; Must exhibit high levels of professionalism, integrity and ethical values at all times; Ability to maintain confidentiality for sensitive Human Resources issues or projects and use judgment to execute duties and responsibilities; Record keeping, report preparation, filing methods and records management techniques; Objectivity and the ability to apply HR rules and regulations in a fair and consistent manner; Ability to plan and prioritize own work under tight deadlines, as well as to work on own initiative and as a member of a team.

Qualifications and requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Social Sciences or its recognized equivalent with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; Masters degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences or its recognized equivalent will be an added advantage; IPMZ Diploma is preferred; Proficiency with HRIS and Payroll systems e.g Belina is required; Prior experience of HR in an international development organization is an advantage.
